Bid to attack Americans foiled, 6 held
LAHORE: The Lahore police on Monday arrested six terrorists for allegedly planning to carry out suicide attacks on Americans in a local five-star hotel and other places.
This was revealed by SSP Investigation Chaudhy Zulfiqar Hamed at a press conference in Lahore today (Monday).
He said that DSP Waris Bharwana and Inspector Rais Khan searched a suspected car and motorcycle at Shahidra check-post and recovered suicide vest and 26 hand grenades.
The police arrested the accused and shifted them to some undisclosed location for further interrogation. The suspects told the police that they were planning to carry out terrorist attacks in Lahore and other cities of Punjab.
The alleged suicide bomber was identified as Mahiuddin, while his five other companions were said to be Abdul Baseer, Abdul Rehman Ghani, Sakhi Shah, Tehsil Khan and Dilawar Saeed.
